Industrial Truck Association Speech |
Many of you may already know this, but Wisconsin's Sixth District has the most manufacturing jobs of any congressional district in the U.S.
Because we have such a large amount of manufacturing, I was honored to speak at Tuesday's gathering of the Industrial Truck Association's in celebration of National Forklift Safety Day. I spoke to the crowd of manufacturers and business owners about safety in factories, U.S. trade deals and the skilled training needed to fill their vacant jobs. |
Executive Action on Apprenticeships |
On Thursday, President Trump signed an executive action expanding apprenticeship programs.
When I travel around the district, I'm approached by manufacturers, small business owners and other professionals that ask me to help fix the skills gap that currently exists in our workforce -- employers in construction, manufacturing and health care are desperately in need of skilled employees.
This executive action will help to fill vacant jobs and drive our economy by increasing technical and vocational training.

I continue to think about my friend Congressman Steve Scalise as he recovers from this week's horrific shooting.
My heart goes out to him, our brave Capitol Police officers and the other individuals who were injured during the baseball practice. I pray everyone makes a full recovery. |
As your congressman, I’m here to serve you. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to my offices in Fond du Lac and Washington. If you enjoyed this newsletter be sure to forward it to your family and friends so they can stay informed on what I’m doing in Washington and the 6th District.
Sincerely,
Glenn Grothman
Member of Congress
