Ending Federal Telework

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held its first hearing of the 119th Congress titled, "The Stay-at-Home Federal Workforce: Another Biden-Harris Legacy." Biden-Harris Administration officials are actively working with their labor union allies to cement high telework levels, undermine President Trump’s electoral mandate, and stymie the incoming Administration’s agenda.

During the hearing, we discussed the fact that the nation’s capital has the highest work-from-home rate in the United States and that current leaders are not doing enough to bring people back into the office. This high level of telework has harmed federal agency performance and left federal buildings sitting virtually empty with the lights on.

After this hearing, I signed onto legislation with House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) that will bring federal workers back into offices so we can maximize the value of your tax dollars and more effectively serve the citizens of the United States.

Two Important Bills Passed the House

This week in the House two very important bills passed! Protection of Women & Girls in Sports Act and Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act.

The Protection of Women & Girls in Sports Act aims to ensure that only individuals born biologically female are eligible to compete in women’s sports. The bill seeks to protect opportunities for female athletes by banning transgender women from participating in women’s sports at the federal level. Athletics are a pathway to excellence, scholarships, and success. But allowing biological males to compete in women's sports means opportunities are stolen from women right out from under them.

The Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act aims to protect women across the U.S. by ensuring that illegal migrants who commit serious crimes, including sexual offenses, do not remain in the country. The bill proposes measures to enhance penalties for crimes such as domestic violence, sexual assault, and trafficking committed by illegal migrants. It also calls for stronger enforcement of immigration laws and includes provisions for increased deportation of illegal migrants convicted of violent offenses.
