Sexual Harassment Transparency
Last week during the Thanksgiving recess, I held several town halls around the district so I could meet with constituents and hear your concerns. Multiple people came to me with concerns about the sexual harassment in Congress, and the attempts to pay for settlements with taxpayer dollars.

That is why I authored a formal, bipartisan letter, cosigned by 15 of my colleagues, to the Committee on House Administration Chairman Gregg Harper (R-MS) and Ranking Member Robert Brady (D-PA) requesting sexual harassment settlements paid for by Congress' Office of Compliance to be released to the public. As your member of Congress, it is my duty to make sure the government is as transparent as possible and I believe you have the right to know where your tax dollars are being spent.

I want to make it clear: sexual harassment is never acceptable.

Speaking of Town Halls...
Thank you to everyone who came out to my town hall meetings last week. I am in Washington to represent you, so it's critical that I hear your concerns.

I've held at least one town hall in every county of Wisconsin's Sixth District -- 45 town halls in total -- since I was elected to Congress. See all the locations here.

Special thanks to Sheboygan County Christian High who participated in the town hall. It's great to see young people engaged in our political process!

Fighting the Opioid Crisis
On Tuesday, I joined my colleagues on the  House Oversight and Goverment Reform Committe for a field hearing at Johns Hopkins Hospital on the opioid crisis. I questioned New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, as well as experts in the medical field about the state of opioid abuse in America and the best ways to combat it.

Read more about the hearing here and watch my questioning here and here.

Wisconsin in D.C.

One of the best parts of my job is meeting with fellow Wisconsinites in Washington!

On Thursday, I met with the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) to talk about tax reform and other issues facing the insurance industry.

Later that day, I was able to speak with the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, including Chancellor Blank from UW-Madison, about undergraduate education.
