Budget Resolution

The U.S. House of Representatives has been busy this week cutting through bureaucratic red tape and working to strengthen our nation’s economy.

Today we passed a budget resolution that will make it easier to repeal Obamacare. The resolution will fast-track the Obamacare repeal through Congress, and will allow it to be passed with a simple majority in the House and Senate.

Passing this resolution is the first step in transitioning to a new patient-centered healthcare system that will work for all Americans.

Regulatory Accountability Act

The House also passed the Regulatory Accountability Act of 2017 (H.R. 5). This is a bipartisan effort to make sure that the regulations passed by government agencies do not burden small business owners and other hard-working Americans.

The resolution increases the transparency of regulations – including the intended results, the time frames and the costs. It allows for more public input and pauses the implementation of rules that are being challenged in court. Additionally, it makes the courtroom more fair for individuals challenging these government regulations.
