This week, I had the pleasure of touring Poynette Iron Works, the Midwest’s largest manufacturer of heavy-duty, large-scale steel products. Founded in 1996, this family-owned and operated business in the Sixth District specializes in delivering top-tier refuse and recycling solutions across residential, commercial, construction, and industrial sectors. Now, their custom metal products can be found on all seven continents—yes, that includes Antarctica!
I got to see firsthand their state-of-the-art custom shop that manufactures roll-off boxes, flatbed trucks, large-scale dewatering boxes, commercial trash dumpsters, receivers, and self-dumping hoppers.
Wisconsin’s 6th District is home to many large and small manufacturing operations, and more manufacturing jobs than any other Congressional district. I strongly believe that our manufacturing workforce and our manufacturers are the backbone of this great country and that we need to do more to both ensure their stability and encourage growth.
Thank you, Poynette Ironworks for your hospitality. I am extremely fortunate to have been able to see your facility and meet with the team to discuss how I can work in Congress to support manufacturing in the Sixth District. As your Representative, I will continue to push forward canvinitiatives and ensure that American manufacturing remains strong, competitive, and sustainable for generations to come.
