The Cancer Drug Parity Act

This week, I introduced the Cancer Drug Parity Act, a bipartisan bill which will lower costs for cancer patients prescribed oral medications, ensuring oral cancer treatments receive the same insurance coverage as traditional IV treatments.

Every year, over two million Americans are expected to receive a cancer diagnosis. For many patients, oral cancer treatments have been a game-changer, offering a more convenient and less invasive approach that can be taken at home, reducing the strain of ongoing medical visits. Despite their effectiveness, oral medications come with high out-of-pocket costs.

Every American deserves access to effective cancer treatments available at the most affordable rate without outdated health insurance plans standing in the way. I’m proud to work across the aisle to expand access, lower costs, and improve outcomes for patients across the country.

Oversight Subcommittee Hearing: The Real Cost of DEI

On Wednesday, I chaired my fourth hearing of the Oversight Subcommittee on Healthcare and Financial Services. This hearing focused on the true cost of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies.

These programs are dividing Americans, stifling free thought, and undermining merit-based success. DEI promotes a group-first ideology, telling people to see themselves not as individuals, but as boxes to be checked. This is a deeply harmful approach to education, business, and government.

President Trump has led the charge in rooting out wasteful DEI programs and restoring equal opportunity grounded in hard work and individual freedom.

During the hearing, I questioned witnesses on federal contracting programs using vague racial classifications and how self-identification is weaponized to manipulate DEI and affirmative action policies.

Budget Committee Hearing: Rooting Out Waste and Fraud and Restoring the Dignity of Work

This week, the Budget Committee met to hold the federal government accountable for the waste and fraud that exploded under President Biden’s mismanagement. We focused on the urgent need to rein in spending, reduce waste, and bring back the principle that work is the foundation of American prosperity.

The Government Accountability Office reports that hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars are lost each year due to fraud, waste, and abuse, jeopardizing the stability of programs like Medicaid and SNAP that are intended to help the most vulnerable. That’s why I voted for the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which includes commonsense, conservative reforms to strengthen federal programs by promoting work, restoring accountability, and eliminating the loopholes that have been exploited for far too long.

Work is not a punishment. It’s a path to independence, dignity, and opportunity. These reforms ensure that help goes to those who truly need it, while protecting taxpayers and preserving vital services for future generations.

Telephone Town Hall Recap: Ozaukee and Sheboygan Counties

Thank you to everyone in Ozaukee and Sheboygan counties who joined this week’s telephone town hall meetings. It was a pleasure to answer your questions, hear your concerns, and update you on the work I’m doing in Washington.

We discussed the progress I’m making in the Budget, Education and Workforce, Judiciary, and Oversight Committees. I also shared updates on President Trump’s bold leadership, including executive orders to secure the border, strengthen our economy, and root out waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government. Together, we’re cleaning up the mess of the last four years and putting the focus back on the American people.

A major topic of conversation was the One Big Beautiful Bill. There’s been a lot of misinformation out there, and I wanted to set the record straight. This bill is about preventing tax hikes, protecting programs like Medicaid for those who truly need them, and cracking down on fraud and abuse. We’re strengthening Medicaid, not cutting it, and restoring it to serve its true purpose: helping vulnerable Americans.

Thank you again to everyone who participated and asked thoughtful questions. If you weren’t able to join this week, I look forward to hearing from you at an in-person or telephone town hall in the future.
