Vote Today: The Artistic Discovery Competition

Each year, high school students around Wisconsin’s Sixth District submit works of art to the Artistic Discovery Competition. The winner will have his or her artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year in an exhibit that features winners from other congressional districts across the U.S.

Now, it’s time for you to vote for the People’s Choice Award!

I’ve posted all submissions on Facebook. To vote for your favorite piece, simply “like” the photo of the artwork on this post.

The artwork that receives the most “likes” will be declared the People’s Choice Award winner. All voting ends on Wednesday, April 23, at 11am CT.

I’m so proud of all the talented young men and women who submitted these beautiful works of art, so make sure to vote for your favorite and share my post with your family and friends!

The REAL ID Deadline is Approaching

Beginning May 7, 2025, in order to fly within the U.S., visit military bases, or access federal buildings, your identification must be REAL ID-compliant. The goal of this policy is to ensure that everyone is exactly who they claim to be.

A star in the upper-right-hand corner designates a Wisconsin ID as REAL ID compliant. Non-compliant cards read “NOT FOR FEDERAL PURPOSES” in that same space. Be mindful of this distinction, as they look similar.

If you are unsure if your driver’s license or ID card is REAL ID-compliant, you can check here.

Valid U.S. passports, or another acceptable form of federal identification, can be used in place of a REAL ID-compliant card. Click here for more information on Transportation Safety Administration approved documents.

I urge you to obtain a REAL ID-compliant card prior to the deadline on May 7.

Happy Easter!

Easter is a sacred day of faith, worship, and the resurrection of Christ. As we reflect on life's many blessings, may this Easter weekend bring you peace and joy.

I wish you and your family a blessed Easter!

"He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’" - Luke 24:6-7

Weekly Roundup

Monday marked the 77th anniversary of the Air Force Reserve, established on April 14, 1948. For over seven decades, the Reserve has played a vital role in our national defense - standing ready, serving with excellence, and embodying a legacy of dedication and resilience.

I had an incredible time at the Envision Greater FDL Annual Meeting! Congratulations to all the nominees and award recipients.

Your dedication to strengthening our workforce and creating new opportunities across the county is truly inspiring. Thank you for all you do!

Project GRILL challenges high school students to design and build a working grill, developing real-world skills in engineering, manufacturing, and teamwork. It was inspiring to see the presentations at Winnebago Lutheran Academy and witness firsthand the impact of this powerful industry-student collaboration.

I had a great time speaking to the Heritage Home Educators Constitution Class at Grace Bible Church, sharing what a typical day looks like in the life of a congressman, and answering some fantastic questions from the students. Thanks for having me!

I was honored to attend the Special Olympics Wisconsin event in Oshkosh. Thousands of athletes compete year-round in 18 Olympic-style sports, no matter their age or ability.

Special Olympics Wisconsin is all about inclusion, empathy, and creating an environment where everyone feels seen, encouraged, and celebrated. Wisconsin is leading that initiative - and I’m lucky to have been there to support such an incredible community.
