Join My Team This Fall

My Fond du Lac district office is accepting applications for fall interns.

Whether you attend a community college, technical college or four-year college, this is an opportunity to learn how government works and gain real-world experience serving the people of Wisconsin’s Sixth District.

Interns work directly with constituents, help people dealing with federal agencies, assist with outreach and research, and travel throughout the district to meet with businesses, organizations and community leaders.

I also want to thank our current interns, Lauren and Bennett, for the excellent work they have done this summer. They have taken on a variety of responsibilities, from helping organize our essay contest to speaking with constituents and joining me at events and visits throughout the district. They have been a real asset to our office, and I appreciate the time and effort they have put into serving our constituents. Celebrating 100 Years of WOMT

I recently joined WOMT in Manitowoc to celebrate 100 years of local radio and the station’s incredible history in the community.

Founded in 1926 by Francis and Lillian Kadow, WOMT has remained a true family operation and has been part of the Seehafer family since the late 1960s. Today, Mark Seehafer serves as President and his son, Terry Stevenson, serves as Vice President, continuing the family’s tradition of keeping WOMT locally owned and operated.

WOMT continues to provide hyper-local news, talk and sports programming, with more than 40 locally produced programs each week. The station has also been named the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association’s Medium Market Station of the Year for seven consecutive years.

Congratulations to Mark, Terry, and the entire WOMT team on 100 years of serving Manitowoc and the surrounding community. Here’s to many more!

Help for Workers and Businesses Impacted by the Menasha Tornado

The July 27 tornado caused significant damage in Menasha, impacting local families, workers, and businesses.

As our community moves from cleanup to recovery, the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board is connecting impacted employees and employers with resources to help them get back on their feet. This includes assistance with unemployment claims, job placement, career training, and support for businesses dealing with temporary or permanent closures.

If your job or business was affected by the tornado, I encourage you to reach out and make sure you have access to the resources available to you.

Weekly Roundup

It was great to join the Town of Algoma Fire Department’s 10th Annual Car Show & Community Picnic!

It was a terrific event with some impressive vehicles and live music. Most importantly, it helped support our local volunteer firefighters and the important work they do to keep our community safe.

I had a fun evening at Poynette Pork in the Park.

It was good to see so many people out enjoying the evening and supporting the Poynette community. Thanks to everyone who worked hard to put this event together and make it a success!

I enjoyed joining the Fond du Lac Noon Rotary with Craig Culver, the founder of Culver’s.

It was a pleasure hearing from a Wisconsin entrepreneur who built a business that has become a household name across the country. Thanks to the Fond du Lac Noon Rotary for having me!

Congratulations to Danilo on becoming a U.S. citizen!

It was an honor to present him with his Certificate of Citizenship. Congratulations to Danilo and his family on this special milestone.
