This week, I toured Brakebush Brothers, Inc. in Westfield, a family-owned company who has been processing chicken for over 100 years. I saw firsthand how this long-standing Wisconsin manufacturer continues to support jobs and economic growth in our district. Facilities like this are a key part of what keeps our local communities strong.
Brakebush employs about 1,000 people at its Westfield plant, providing stable jobs that allow families in central Wisconsin to build a future close to home.
During my visit, I met with workers and leadership to discuss the challenges facing manufacturers and food producers, including workforce needs, supply chain pressures, and federal regulations. Hearing directly from employers and employees helps ensure that the policies we consider in Washington reflect the realities facing Wisconsin families and job creators.
Manufacturing and food production play a major role in our district’s economy, and it’s important that we continue supporting an environment where businesses can grow, workers can succeed, and communities can thrive. I appreciate the team at Brakebush for taking the time to share their perspective and for the work they do every day to keep Wisconsin working.
