Congressional Art Competition

Each spring the U.S. House of Representatives sponsors the Artistic Discovery Competition, which was established to encourage and recognize the creative endeavors of our Nation’s high school students. Each Member of the U.S. House of Representatives coordinates a competition among the students attending high schools in the congressional district he or she currently represents.

In each participating district, students are invited to submit an original work created in a two-dimensional medium. Since its inception in 1982, more than 650,000 of our nation’s high school students have participated in the competition. The winning entry from each participating district is eligible to be flown out to Washington, D.C. for a national reception and is included in the annual National Exhibition, which is displayed in the Cannon House Office Building Tunnel for one year.

I am pleased to announce that I am currently accepting applications!

Artwork submissions for the 2024 Artistic Discovery Competition may be delivered or mailed to my Fond du Lac district office on or before Monday, April 15, 2024. Please click here for more information.

Internships In My Office

If you are, or know, a student or recent graduate who would be interested in a summer internship in my Fond du Lac or Washington, D.C. office, please let me know!

We are now accepting applications from hard-working, driven individuals who want to learn more about the way our laws are made and how the federal government works.

Internship positions are paid a monthly stipend and while the dates are flexible based on school schedules, summer internships typically run from Mid-May to Mid-August.

This week, I got to see the Lomira facility of Quad Graphics and learn about what they are doing in the healthcare space with Quad Med. I also got to meet the patriotic children who attend Quad Care. Thank you for the warm welcome!

Congratulations to the Fond du Lac County Sheriffs Department for 175 years of service. Thank you to Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt and all Sheriffs and officers past and present who have served to protect our community.

I was happy to visit Moraine Park Technical College's new Automation Innovation Center for a firsthand look at their investment into preparing Wisconsin's manufacturing workforce of tomorrow.

It was great to meet the children of Lily Pad Learning Center in Fond du Lac and speak with the educators who are dedicated to their development.

I always enjoy speaking with local leaders about the kitchen-table issues they face, and what they are hearing from the rest of our community, so I can best represent Wisconsin's Sixth District in Congress. That's why I was happy to attend the Oshkosh Chamber Business After Hours event at Revs.

Congratulations to the Mayville community on successfully opening the Ted and Grace Bachhuber Memorial Library! This addition to the community is a testament to the power of hard work and determination.
