National Manufacturing Day |
Tomorrow is National Manufacturing Day. In celebration, it's important to recognize the vital role manufacturing plays as the backbone of our economy in the Sixth District.
Every day, 80,000 of our citizens wake up and go to work at factories and manufacturing facilities - more than almost any other place in the country. Our district is at the forefront of creating manufacturing jobs and spurring innovation.
I salute all of you working in the manufacturing industry as you continue to grow the economy of Wisconsin and the entire country.
Happy National Manufacturing Day!

Ripon College Speaking Event |
On Wednesday, I spoke to the Center for Politics and the People at Ripon College. I enjoyed sharing with students and the community about my responsibilities and experiences as a congressman and my work on the Education and Workforce Committee to reform higher education. We also discussed other national issues like health care and the deficit.

Meetings Around the District |
This week, I attended two productive breakfast meetings hosted by the Two Rivers Business Association and retirees of the Point Beach Nuclear Plant.
During these meetings, we discussed the Department of Labor's overtime rule, which will affect businesses and manufacturers in our district, and the heroin epidemic that's occurring nationwide.
