One Month Since I Voted to Keep the Government Open

One month ago, on September 19, I joined my House Republican colleagues in voting for a clean funding bill to keep the government open and protect essential services for the American people. We did our job.

Unfortunately, Senate Democrats chose to now block this legislation, something they supported 13 times during the Biden Administration, simply because they refuse to work with President Trump. Instead, they’re demanding $1.5 trillion in new spending and putting politics ahead of the people they serve.

Every day the government remains closed it is hurting hardworking Americans, including our troops and their families. Thankfully, President Trump has stepped in and directed Secretary Hegseth to ensure our service members continue receiving their paychecks. He should not have had to take this action, but Democrats who continue to refuse to reopen the government left him no choice.

I am grateful for President Trump’s decisive leadership and his unwavering commitment to our men and women in uniform.

This shutdown is hurting families, small businesses, and communities across Wisconsin. It’s time for Democrats to put people before politics and vote to reopen the government. I proudly voted to keep essential programs running, support our troops, and stand up for the hardworking Wisconsinites affected by this unnecessary shutdown.

As always, my office remains open and ready to help you. For important shutdown-related resources and assistance, please visit my website HERE.

Holding Leaders Accountable: Wisconsin Families Deserve Better

In response to the Democrat-led shutdown, I joined my Republican colleagues in the Wisconsin delegation in sending a letter to Senator Tammy Baldwin, urging her to vote to reopen the government.

This shutdown is hurting Wisconsin families, particularly those in rural and low-income communities who depend on vital services that have been disrupted. Seniors, veterans, expectant mothers, and children deserve our full and immediate attention, not to be caught in the crossfire of political games.

We are calling on Senator Baldwin to do the right thing: put Wisconsin families first and end this shutdown. It’s time for Democrats in the Senate to acknowledge the real harm being caused and join us in reopening the government.

The Hostages Are Home

Last week, the world witnessed a moment of long-overdue justice and relief: the final living Israeli hostages held in Gaza have been freed and reunited with their families.

For over two years, these innocent victims endured unthinkable suffering at the hands of Hamas terrorists. Their safe return is a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience of the Israeli people and of what steadfast American leadership can achieve.

I commend President Trump for his tireless efforts in securing their release. His administration’s clear-eyed diplomacy and unwavering support for Israel made this outcome possible.

As we celebrate the hostages’ homecoming, we continue to pray for those who lost loved ones and for the healing of a nation still scarred by Hamas’s brutality. America’s bond with Israel is strong, and our resolve to stand against terrorism must never waver.

National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk

This Tuesday marked what would have been Charlie Kirk’s 32nd birthday and the first National Day of Remembrance in his honor — a day that will continue to be observed each year on his birthday to celebrate his life and lasting impact.

Charlie’s legacy continues to inspire generations of Americans. He amplified the conservative movement, encouraged thoughtful dialogue across the aisle, and motivated countless young people to think freely, believe in the word of God, and engage in civic life.

On this special day, many across the country gathered in prayer to honor Charlie’s memory and the powerful mark he left on our nation. I continue to keep his family, friends, and all those touched by his message in my prayers as we celebrate his life and the enduring principles he stood for.

Columbus Day

On Monday, we celebrated Columbus Day, a time to reflect on the courage and determination that led to the discovery of the New World. Christopher Columbus’s voyage in 1492 forever changed the course of history, opening the door to exploration, innovation, and the founding of our great United States.

Columbus’s journey reminds us of the importance of perseverance in the face of uncertainty and the belief that great achievements come from innovative ideas and hard work. His courage to venture into the unknown embodies the same pioneering spirit that built America, a nation that continues to lead the world in innovation, discovery, and freedom.

As we honor Columbus Day, may we always strive to uphold that same spirit of exploration and determination that continues to inspire generations of Americans.
