Hexion Visit

Thanks to Hexion, a chemical plant and manufacturing facility in Sheboygan, for an informative tour on Thursday.

The tour focused mainly on safety at the facility – Hexion works hard to ensure that its employees remain safe on the job. Its facility has had zero injuries in four years thanks to resources that provide immediate response information in case of accidents and other measures.

Meals on Wheels
After the Hexion tour, I helped Meals on Wheels of Sheboygan County CEO Kelly Heyn deliver meals throughout the county. The Meals on Wheels organization does great work all across the country and I was grateful to experience it firsthand in the Sheboygan community.

Cooking at the Berlin Senior Center
On Tuesday, I did a cooking demonstration at the Berlin Senior Center.

While I prepared my grilled chicken summer sandwiches for the attendees, I told them about the committees I serve on in Congress. After the demonstration, I had the opportunity to eat lunch with the seniors and discuss issues facing the Sixth District.

JDRF Meeting

It was a pleasure to meet with a group from the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) to learn more about the work JDRF is doing to help fight Type 1 Diabetes in our community.

All those who attended the meeting are affected by Type 1 Diabetes. It was interesting to hear their stories and learn more about their needs.
