I wanted to share some great news with you today. Oshkosh Corporation was awarded the coveted contract from the Pentagon to build the Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV) for the U.S. Military. I couldn’t be more proud of Oshkosh and the hard work they put into this project. The real winners are our servicemen and women who will be better equipped and protected on the front lines.
Read my remarks below from the press conference at Oshkosh
Corporation today:
“Congratulations to Oshkosh on winning the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle award. The real winners from this announcement are our great servicemen and women, who protect us every day. Oshkosh is a part of the manufacturing heartbeat of this country, and is one of the greatest military manufacturers in the world.
“The JLTVs built by Oshkosh Defense will play an important role protecting our soldiers on the front lines and assure the military remains mission ready in the future. The JLTV program award allows Oshkosh Corporation to continue to provide great jobs and support for not only itself, but for hundreds of suppliers in Wisconsin and across the country. It’s a win-win.”
Oshkosh Corporation Chief Executive Officer, Charles L. Szews added, “Throughout the 8-year $6.7 billion JLTV production contract, and potentially many years to follow, the Oshkosh JLTV program will support thousands of jobs in Wisconsin, as well as suppliers in more than 30 other states across the country. JLTV provides Oshkosh and hundreds of Wisconsin-based suppliers the opportunity to maintain and advance the critical skills that keep America’s military industrial base the best in the world.”
