Remembering 9/11

This Sunday marks the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.

The attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, touched every community in every state. Today, though America seems more divided than ever, we still come together as a nation that refuses to be defeated by evil. Let us continue to honor and remember the lives lost 15 years ago.

State Department's Failed Recordkeeping

Yesterday, I questioned State Department officials about the department’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) processes during a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing.

From 2009 through 2013, the State Department lost countless federal records, in the form of emails, while Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State. Now, FOIA requests for these records are going unfulfilled because of inadequate recordkeeping.

Americans have the right to access federal records, which is why I demanded answers yesterday about the State Department’s role in losing these particular records.

IDC Speech
I was honored to speak about persecuted Christians in the Middle East at the In Defense of Christians (IDC) National Advocacy Convention. IDC does great work raising awareness about the plight of Christians around the globe.
