This week, I had the chance to visit Fox River Industries in Green Lake County, and I left inspired by the work they do every single day.
Fox River Industries provides opportunities and support for people with developmental disabilities, helping them live meaningful lives and contribute to their communities in incredible ways. Their work for individuals with disabilities is invaluable, providing them with much more than simply a paycheck, but a supporting community and the dignity that comes from having a job. What stood out most to me was how much they truly care about the people they serve. It’s clear this is more than just a job for their team.
Their mission also extends to individuals with chronic mental illness, W-2 participants, and local juveniles. With a dedicated staff, they’re able to cover program areas that make a significant impact in people’s lives.
I also stopped by Markesan, where volunteers were preparing meals for seniors. Watching people come together to simply help others was a powerful reminder of what makes Wisconsin’s Sixth District such a special place.
