For years, unelected bureaucrats have disrupted the work of Wisconsin's chemical manufacturers and inhibited the success of the industry through the abuse of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) program. Instead of grounding regulatory decisions in sound science, the IRIS program has demonstrated a poor track record by issuing assessments that conflict with the industry’s best available scientific expertise and methodologies. This had resulted in government red tape blocking expansion of the manufacturing sector.
That is why I have introduced the No Industrial Restrictions in Secret Act (No IRIS Act). This commonsense legislation protects American safety, jobs, and ensuring chemical risk assessments conducted by EPA are driven by the best available science, rather than by political and ideological agendas.
I am proud to share that this bill is supported by the American Chemistry Council, Hexion Specialty Chemicals, who has a manufacturing plant in Sheboygan, over 80 manufacturers around the country, and is companion legislation to Senator John Kennedy’s (R-LA) bill in the U.S. Senate.

Over the past four years under President Biden, the United States saw unprecedented increases in the amount of illegal border crossings and the number of migrants remaining in our country illegally. This was no accident. On day one, the former President issued a flurry of executive orders that overturned Trump-era policies that worked and resulted in our border becoming wide open and ignored for four years.
In just one month, President Trump’s leadership and policies have dramatically improved the situation at the border, protecting Americans and migrants alike, while taking power away from the drug cartels who were emboldened by the previous Administration. Here are just a few of these successes I want to share with you: - Re-established the successful “Remain in Mexico” policy.
- Declared a national emergency at the border and deployed the military, including the 10th Mountain Division, to secure our nation.
- Ended “catch-and-release,” reversing the dangerous Biden-era policy that released dangerous illegal aliens back into our communities.
- Illegal border crossings have hit lows not seen in decades as U.S. Border Patrol is re-empowered to once again enforce the law.
- ABC News: “From Jan. 21 through Jan. 31, the number of U.S. Border Patrol apprehensions along the southwest border dropped 85% from the same period in 2024, according to data obtained by ABC News. In the 11 days after Jan. 20, migrants apprehended at ports of entry declined by 93%.”
- Illegal aliens have started turning around in droves amid the crackdown.
- The Department of Homeland Security announced that arrests of criminal illegal immigrants have doubled under President Trump.
