Happy New Year!
I hope you and your family had a safe and happy (and warm) holiday season. 2017 surely was a memorable year and I look forward to continuing my work for the Sixth District in 2018.

I am proud to say that in 2017 I continued to support bipartisan legislation helping Wisconsin families, businesses, veterans, the less fortunate and the environment. As a public servant, it is my goal to protect the rights of people and businesses, while creating an environment for our economy to grow and for families to achieve the American dream.

Promoting Meaningful Work for the Disabled
All people are entitled to the dignity of work in a location of their choice and the pride that goes with having a paycheck. That needs to happen without interference from burdensome government regulations. Last year, the Obama administration’s Department of Education (DoEd) issued guidance on a law called the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) that effectively resulted in a direct assault on work centers.

That is why I have worked so passionately to protect the rights of those with disabilities. Read more in my op-ed here.

I recently met with A-Team Advocacy in my Fond du Lac office to discuss these issues. Thank you for your insight!

I also visited Holiday House in Manitowoc, which is an organization that provides employment opportunities and services to individuals with disabilities. It was great to see everyone!

Manufacturing is on the rise!
2017 was the best year for manufacturing since 2004, which is great news for Wisconsin's Sixth District and the entire country. Manufacturing is a critical industry that employs millions of Americans, and I am proud to represent a district with more manufacturing jobs than any other congressional district.

Around Wisconsin's Sixth District
I always love to travel the Sixth District to celebrate my constituents' achievements and talk about the issues important to them.

It was a privilege to end the year at Darian Sager's Eagle Scout Court of Honor in Plymouth. Congratulations to Darian on this honor!

I also enjoyed a belated Christmas party with the Manitowoc Home Builders Association. Thanks for keeping the holiday spirit alive just a little bit longer!
