The Federal Fraud Prevention Workforce Training Act

This week, I introduced the bipartisan Federal Fraud Prevention Workforce Training Act alongside Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) to crack down on fraud and make sure federal programs are managed responsibly.

Americans work hard for their money, and they expect their government to treat every tax dollar with respect. Unfortunately, fraud in federal programs remains far too common, and it is often easily preventable. This legislation takes a practical step forward by ensuring federal employees receive consistent training to identify risks early, use proven anti-fraud tools, and stop waste before it starts.

Just as important, the bill makes these training resources available to state and local partners who administer federal funds on the front lines. That means stronger oversight, better safeguards, and more accountability at every level of government.

At the end of the day, protecting taxpayer dollars isn’t a partisan issue - it’s a basic responsibility. This commonsense effort will help restore trust, reduce waste, and make sure government works the way it should: efficiently, responsibly, and in the best interest of the American people.

Supporting Healthier Choices and Stronger Accountability at HHS

I joined the Education and Workforce Committee for a hearing with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to examine the direction of one of the largest and most powerful agencies in Washington.

During the hearing, I voiced my strong support for the Department’s efforts to promote healthier living, including the updated food pyramid and renewed focus on better nutrition. For too long, Washington has overlooked the importance of giving families clear, practical guidance on healthy eating. I appreciate Secretary Kennedy’s leadership in prioritizing nutrition and working to ensure federal programs encourage healthier choices.

I also emphasized the importance of protecting children and empowering parents to make decisions about their own families. Parents deserve transparency, respect, and a government that supports them, not one that sidelines them.

I want to thank Secretary Kennedy for his willingness to engage directly with Congress and tackle difficult issues head-on. We share a commitment to improving the health of the American people, strengthening oversight, and making sure taxpayer dollars are used wisely.

I look forward to continuing to work with Secretary Kennedy to promote healthier food options, protect families, and ensure federal programs deliver real results for the people they serve.

Vote Today: The Congressional Art Competition's People's Choice Award

Every year, talented high school students from across Wisconsin’s Sixth District step forward to showcase their creativity in the Congressional Art Competition. The winning artwork earns a special honor: being displayed in the United States Capitol for an entire year, representing our district alongside students from across the nation.

Now it’s time for you to have your say.

We’ve posted all of this year’s submissions on my Facebook page, and I encourage you to take a few minutes to look through the incredible artwork these students have created. Then, simply “like” the photo of your favorite piece to cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award.

Voting is open until Monday, April 27 at 11:00 AM Central Time, so don’t wait.

I’m tremendously proud of every student who participated. The talent, dedication, and imagination on display are truly impressive, and this is a great opportunity for our community to celebrate their hard work.
