3 Million
The American dream is alive and well as good economic news continues to wash over the country.

Today, it was announced that the U.S. economy added 313,000 new jobs in the month of February, with nearly one-third of them coming from the mining and logging, construction and manufacturing industries. This number exceeded estimates by more than 50 percent and means that the economy has added nearly three million jobs since President Trump took office.

Additionally, the unemployment rate is at a 17-year low for the 5th consecutive month as the stock market continues to shatter records.

One of my main goals in Washington is to make sure Wisconsin's 6th District is able to create as many good, well-paying jobs as possible. I am committed to continue working toward strengthening our economy and promoting an environment that produces good jobs for hard-working Americans.

Fiscal Responsibility
I recently authored a letter to House and Senate leadership, on both sides of the aisle, advocating fiscal restraint. My letter, which was signed by several colleagues, urges Congress to spend two percent less than what was authorized in last month's Bipartisan Budget Agreement.

For the sake of our children, grandchildren and each generation of Americans that follow, we have a moral imperative to get our fiscal house in order.

Wisconsin in D.C.
Many Wisconsinites have been coming to D.C. lately. I can't wait to see more of you!

I had a great conversation with students from Mozambique, Egypt and Kenya studying and staying in Wisconsin's 6th district through the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Program, a program helping international students study in America. These young people have a bright future!

Kiel High School teacher, David Friend, and I had a lengthy and very substantive conversation about career and technical education.

U.S-Israel relations are strong. Wisconsin AIPAC members and I are working to keep it that way.

I had a great meeting with fellow Wisconsinites from the Wisconsin Counties Association.

Thanks to WHEDA for coming by to talk rural development. It was great to reminisce about my time on the WHEDA board.

I received a roofing industry update from the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA).

I extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all American veterans. It was great to talk to Wisconsin members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in my D.C. office.

I had a great conversation with these Wiscosnin carpenters. The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBCJA) is building America!
