Throughout my time in Washington, I have used my voice to speak out against reckless spending and in support of balancing the budget and pro-growth policies to strengthen our economy. Members of both parties have participated in careless spending and borrowing, which hurts employees' paychecks and the security of future generations.
Under the Biden Administration, unchecked government spending drove our national debt above $31 trillion for the first time ever and consumer prices rising at 40-year highs. As I travel across the Sixth District, families and business owners constantly voice their concerns to me about our national debt and Washington's inability to get our fiscal house in order.
Now more than ever, it is time to be sensible.
This week, House Republicans took a step toward restoring sanity in Washington when Congress passed the Limit, Save, Grow Act to address Washington's spending addiction and secure America’s fiscal future for our children and grandchildren. I urge President Biden and our Senate colleagues to take up this legislation to solve our nation's debt crisis immediately.
