As your Representative, I understand the immense significance of our relationship with our northern neighbor, Canada, and its impact on our state's prosperity. The relationship between Wisconsin and Canada extends far beyond geographical proximity – it is a partnership rooted in shared values, economic interdependence, and common interests.

In the interest of strengthening our relationship with Canada, I recently welcomed the Consul of the Consulate General of Canada, Aaron Annable, into my office in Fond du Lac. Canada is Wisconsin's largest trading partner, and the flow of goods and services across our shared border supports countless jobs and businesses. Wisconsin's Sixth District is home to 41 Canadian-owned businesses that employ nearly 3,000 individuals.

Did you know Wisconsin sells more goods to Canada than the next five largest foreign markets combined? Our dairy farmers in Wisconsin rely on Canadian markets for their products, while Canadian consumers enjoy high-quality Wisconsin cheese. Additionally, industries such as manufacturing, technology, and agriculture benefit from this strong trade relationship, fostering economic growth and innovation in both regions.

Businesses operating in the Sixth District collectively export $1.8 billion in goods to Canada every year. Trade and investment between Canada and Wisconsin supports millions of jobs and is vital to our economic competitiveness and prosperity. Meeting with Consul Annable to discuss building on our strong trade relations was a pleasure, and we will continue to strengthen this relationship.

One of the best parts of my job is nominating young people from Wisconsin's Sixth District for our country's military academies. I wish all applicants the best of luck as they seek to attend one of the U.S. Service Academies and serve our country. 

As you may know, Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four of the five U.S. service academies: U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.

With consumer prices relentlessly increasing throughout President Biden's tenure, coupled with wages decreasing, ‘Bidenomics’ has been a disaster for working families.

It was a pleasure visiting Rogers Behavioral Health and meeting with the wonderful team in their Sheboygan location. I am grateful for all the work you do to support patients in the Sixth District!

I was glad to visit the Portage location of RTP Company and meet their talented team of engineers and manufacturers operating in the Sixth District.
