Working For You

Since President Biden took office, gas prices, inflation, illegal immigration, and crime rates have skyrocketed. During these trying times, it's my duty to travel around the Sixth District, take note of your concerns, and take them into account as I work on your behalf in Washington.

Our District is home to more manufacturing jobs than any other Congressional district in the country, which is why you’ll often see me touring one of these facilities on a given day.

This week, I had the opportunity to visit Viking Masek Technologies to examine the process behind the manufacturing of packaging systems. Based out of Oostburg, Viking Masek Technologies has transformed from a small business into a worldwide leader in the packaging machinery space. It was an honor to be welcomed into their facility and converse with so many dedicated employees.

Next, I met the folks behind the Wisconsin Partners for Fish and Wildlife, which is a community of local landowners that have come together to voluntarily conserve Wisconsin's natural environment by improving water quality, reducing tree removals, and preserving endangered species. Thus far, this group has conserved land and improved natural habitats in over 9,000 acres in the Sixth District. This organization is consequential and deserves recognition and support from Washington as it protects our land, air, water, plants, and animals.

Later in the week, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to connect with a family-owned warehousing company known as the Cedar Grove Warehouse. This small business is essential in assisting other Wisconsin businesses in storing refrigerated goods, especially cheese! Taking a tour of this facility in Oostburg allowed me to speak with management about their goals, challenges, and priorities in our dwindling economy.

Employees of small businesses across Wisconsin are the backbone of our economy, but they have been struggling over the past year under President Biden. It's upsetting because the majority of Americans feel left behind — nearly 9 in 10 Americans believe our country is headed in the wrong direction.

Despite the state of our economy, after speaking with local business owners and employees, I often feel inspired and motivated because every Wisconsinite I come across is dedicated to their profession and always striving to improve. Because our economy is not currently working for the American people, I am eager to work across the aisle and adequately support small businesses in the Sixth District to promote the growth of the Wisconsin economy.

I believe the best representatives in government are citizens of the area represented who know the local issues through and through. For that reason, I will forever appreciate hearing which issues you, my neighbors, value the most as I serve you in Congress.

Community Events

Speaking of traveling around Wisconsin, we are quickly approaching the yearly district work period in August, where I will be in Wisconsin for the entire month. During this time, it is my responsibility to speak with residents of the Sixth District frequently about the most pressing issues facing our communities.

It was honor to present Widmer’s Cheese Cellars with a Congressional commendation to recognize the 100-year anniversary of this successful Theresa small business.

I had a wonderful experience touring the Fond du Lac location of ST Genetics to learn more about the art of breeding, which is crucial in supporting Wisconsin’s world famous dairy farms.

Last week, I met with the Mayville Rotary Club to provide an update on my work in Congress to support Mayville and other communities in the Sixth District.
