Electing the House Speaker
In the 118th Congress, the House of Representatives has the obligation to hold the Biden Administration accountable, restore fiscal responsibility, crack down on individuals trafficking deadly drugs, like fentanyl, and address the worsening crisis at our Southern border. Our first order of business, however, was to elect a House Speaker.
Over the past several weeks, many of my colleagues have had meetings with House leadership to discuss changes they would like to see instituted to House rules, procedures, and the role of the Speaker. This week, that culminated in five days of the House not coming to a resolution before finally electing Kevin McCarthy as our next Speaker early on Saturday morning.
Now, it is time to roll up our sleeves and start doing the job the American people elected us to do. I am ready to get to work for you and for the country.
The Reopening of the People's House
At last, with the new Republican majority, the People's House is once again open to visitors. If you are in Washington, DC, please stop by my office any time!
You can also request tickets through my office for a tour of the Capitol Building or White House by visiting my website or calling my office at 202-225-2476.
Tickets are free and provided to residents of the Sixth District on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the large number of visitors and limited tour availability, I recommend requesting tickets as early as possible if you are planning a trip this year.
In addition to the White House and Capitol Building, my staff can serve as a resource to you for several other tours, which can be found through the link below.
Last year, my offices made thousands of contacts with residents of the Sixth District to help assist with federal agencies, schedule tours, and purchase flags. Throughout 2023, please don’t hesitate to contact my office in Fond du Lac or DC if you need my assistance.
It was lovely spending New Year's Eve playing bingo with the Green Lake Chamber of Commerce.
It was an honor to join the Patriot Riders of America in Manitowoc for Tommy Knapp’s Gold Star Flag Presentation. He also showed me the license plate for his 1965 Mustang “Dusty’s Dream”.
On New Year’s Day, I took part in a fundraiser to support the Elkhart Lake Fire Department. Thank you for providing security and comfort to our communities!
As your Congressman, I’m here to serve you. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to my offices in Fond du Lac and Washington.
