We are entering a time in American history where there are efforts to take Christ out of Christmas. This is more evident than ever when it comes to Christmas music, and the increasingly combative efforts to sanitize any Christmas song that makes a reference to Christ.
Some of my favorite Christmas songs are Joy to the World, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, and O Come All Ye Faithful. Nowadays, on any given Christmas radio station, you’ll be lucky to come across a song that references Christ or religion. As you shop in large corporate stores this Christmas season, it’s strikingly noticeable how many songs revolve around secular themes like Santa Claus is Coming to town, Santa Baby, and Let It Snow.
That is why I would like to share with you 15 Christmas songs that should be part of the regular rotation of any Christmas station or in the background of America’s retail outlets this Christmas season. I hope you have a joyous, blessed, and safe holiday!
