Dillon Mueller was a Mishicot native who tragically passed away in 2014 at the age of 18 after being stung by a bee and falling into a coma due to anaphylaxis. Dillon was, unfortunately, unable to receive epinephrine in a timely manner.
Since then, his parents, Angel and George Mueller, have been on a mission and have started the Dillon Mueller Memorial Fund. Through this, they have already helped over 3,000 Wisconsinites obtain training on how to administer Epinephrine through the Do It for Dillon Epinephrine Certification Program. This program has been approved by the Wisconsin Department of Health and the Wisconsin Association of Osteopathic Physicians & Surgeons. The course is free of charge, lasts approximately an hour, and is available to any community entity or group interested in epinephrine training. You can read more about the program by clicking here.
With the help of Angel and George, I introduced the bipartisan Dillon's Law, along with Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (D-MI). This legislation encourages all states to train individuals to carry and administer epinephrine, better known as “EpiPens,” just like we do here. Many states, including Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Indiana, have signed versions of this bill into law with overwhelming bipartisan support.
This bill isn’t limited to children, however, as it allows states more flexibility to train individuals to administer epinephrine to anyone experiencing a severe allergic reaction.
Dillon Mueller’s passing was a tragedy. No parent should have to endure the loss of a child, and that is what Dillon’s parents are working to prevent going forward. Training for delivery of epinephrine to an individual is cost effective, quick, and can prevent tragedies from occurring every year. I hope that my colleagues in Congress will join me in learning more about Dillon Mueller and how Dillon's Law can save lives throughout the country.

As Chairman of the House Oversight Committee’s Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs, I have traveled several times to our Southern border to get a firsthand look at the ongoing immigration crisis. During these trips, Border Patrol agents have shared with me that morale within the agency is at historic lows, and that this can be attributed to the lack of manpower, depletion of resources, and overall ambivalent attitude toward the agency by the Biden Administration.
Specifically, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a report that found over 70 percent of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) personnel stated that their current work location was not adequately prepared and staffed. Additionally, Border Patrol agents are overwhelmed and frustrated they cannot sufficiently protect the border due to the dismantling of our immigration system that has taken place since President Biden took office. Current policies in place have empowered Cartels, encouraged crime, and punished Border Patrol by leaving them without the tools necessary to fight back and secure the border.
In response to this concerning report, I held a hearing to conduct oversight on the Biden Administration’s mismanagement of resources, all of which have led to depleted staffing levels at the border. DHS Inspector General Joseph Cuffari appeared before my Subcommittee to shine a light on his report along with decisions made by DHS that have exacerbated the border crisis.
Unfortunately, DHS Secretary Mayorkas has declined to implement all of the recommendations provided in Inspector General Cuffari’s report. The border crisis is preventable, but President Biden and his hand-picked subordinates have installed policies that allow crime and drugs to run rampant, which have made the jobs and lives of Border Patrol far more dangerous and difficult.

During this week's House Committee on Education and the Workforce hearing, I asked Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su to provide details regarding the whereabouts of migrant children who came to our country illegally and their parents.
Secretary Su conceded that migrant children have been regularly exploited and subject to child labor violations under the Biden Administration.
Does the Department of Labor then attempt to reunite these children with their parents?
According to Secretary Su, they do not even make an effort to contact the parents.
This must change, and is a perfect example of the need for prudent Congressional Oversight of the Executive Branch. These children have been sent here illegally and have little means to look after themselves. Instead of leaving them be, the government should make an effort to return these children to their parents in their home country. I will continue to work in Congress to look out for these children.
