This week, the House Oversight Committee’s Subcommittee on Healthcare and Financial Services convened for a hearing on how the Biden Administration’s attempts to dismantle Title IX are ruining fairness in women’s sports and undermining women’s rights. The root of this debate centers around biological men, particularly minors, who claim to be women yet have an unfair competitive advantage over female athletes on the playing field due to their genetics.

The questions that I raised were about why are we encouraging our youth to alter their sex via surgery and drugs and what are the consequences of it?

In short, the rush to inject children with puberty blockers and encourage hormone replacement therapy has led to a growing population that wish they never would have tried to change their sex. As a result, more than 40 percent of transgender individuals have attempted suicide, which is a devastating real-life consequence of the radical gender ideology in America today. Additionally, transgender individuals suffer from alcohol and drug abuse at higher rates than the rest of Americans.

I am deeply committed to safeguarding the well-being and future of our children, and right now, the general public isn't paying nearly enough attention to the long-term consequences of the decisions we make for our youth.

As a member of the House Budget Committee, I will continue to speak out against reckless spending and in support of balancing the budget and pro-growth policies to strengthen our economy. Members of both parties have participated in careless spending and borrowing, which hurts employees' paychecks and the security of future generations.

Earlier this year, I was proud to vote for the REIN IN Inflation Act and the Lower Energy Costs Act to stop needless government spending and lower energy costs.

The Congressional App Challenge (CAC) is an annual coding competition that inspires student creativity and encourages participation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education fields. This challenge allows middle and high school students from across the country to compete against their peers by creating and exhibiting their software application, or "app," for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice. This year, I was happy to see an increase in applications and several new school districts participating!

And now, the winner of the 2023 Congressional App Challenge for Wisconsin's Sixth District, is…"SmartBus”! Created by students from Neenah Middle School, this innovative app offers real-time tracking via Google Routes, allowing parents to access the estimated arrival time and precise location of their children's bus. Congratulations to “SmartBus” for its innovative solution for parents!

I was glad to spend time with Markesan Fire Department firefighters at their open house fundraiser to support the operations of the Department. Thank you for protecting our loved ones and local community. 

On Thursday, we came together in unity to honor and remember the 2,403 servicemembers and civilians taken from us during the tragic attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

It was my pleasure to speak at the Cedarburg Cultural Center for last week’s Finally Friday Event. I was grateful to spend the night listening to live music, enjoying the artwork, and engaged in great conversation!

Over the weekend, I bought cookies at the Ripon St. Peter’s Episcopal Church bake sale! I am always happy to support the future of the Parish of Saint Peter and the efforts to spread faith in the Sixth District.
