Under the Biden Administration, criminal Cartels have had the upper hand against Border Patrol due to insufficient resources and support from Washington. As a result, fentanyl has infiltrated American communities, leading to the most deadly drug crisis in American history.
In light of the threat posed by Cartels due to the border crisis, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced the foundation of a new Congressional Task Force to Combat Mexican Drug Cartels, and I am honored to share that I have been selected to serve on it. The goal of this select task force is to identify how Congress can use its power to stop the heinous crimes of Cartels and save American lives from deadly drugs and human trafficking.
The opportunity to serve on this task force and find ways to fix the problems at our Southern border is a challenge I accept with great earnestness. With no action, Mexican Drug Cartels will maintain operational control over our Southern border, threatening countless lives. Along with the other 17 Members of Congress appointed to this task force, I will investigate these criminal organizations, propose concrete solutions, and educate the American people on the severity of this issue.
