Grothman Votes to Approve Keystone PipelineBipartisan Majorities Send the Bill to President’s Desk
Washington, D.C.,
February 11, 2015
U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-Campbellsport) joined a bipartisan majority in supporting the building the Keystone XL Pipeline today. The bill has now passed both houses of Congress and goes to President Barack Obama’s desk. Grothman released the following statement on the passage of the bill: “It’s time for the Keystone Pipeline to move forward. After years of endless government red tape and political games, bipartisan majorities in the House and the Senate have finally approved this project. The only person standing in the way is President Obama. “President Obama’s own administration has concluded that the project will have a multi-billion dollar impact on the economy while supporting more than 40,000 jobs, protecting the environment, and moving America closer to energy independence. “I sincerely hope that the President reconsiders his veto and listens to members of both parties in supporting this commonsense legislation.” U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman is serving his first term representing Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
