Congressman Glenn Grothman (R-Glenbeulah) today released the following statement in celebration of National Farmers Day:
"When folks across the country think of Wisconsin, they often think of our delicious cheese and our robust agriculture sector. Today we take time to recognize and celebrate the legions of hard-working farmers across our state who make those thoughts a reality. "In the Sixth District alone, we have more than 8,000 farms growing and producing some of the world’s finest agricultural goods. I’m proud that our district and our state are known for superior dairy, corn, grain and numerous other farm products. "It’s a further testament to our farming community that whenever I tour businesses and manufacturers back home, they always mention their desire to hire individuals from farm families because of how hard they work. So, to all the farmers across Wisconsin, I salute you. Happy National Farmers Day!"Background National Farmers Day dates back to the 1800s. Wisconsin’s Sixth District has more than 8,000 farms and 14,0999 farm operators. ### U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman is serving his second term representing Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. |
