Grothman Votes Against Iran Nuclear Deal
Washington,
September 11, 2015
(Washington, D.C.) - Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-Glenbeulah) today released the following statement after the House of Representatives voted to oppose President Obama's Iranian Nuclear Agreement.
“Today, the House of Representatives overwhelmingly voted to oppose President Obama’s dangerous Iran deal. Senator Corker’s bill ensured this deal would be reviewed by Congress and I had hoped enough Democrats in both chambers would join us in opposing a deal that clearly favors Iran’s nuclear program over America’s national security. This deal paves the way for an Iranian nuclear weapon and rewards the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism with sanctions relief. The American people have made it clear, by a two to one margin, they don’t want this deal. I hope the international community will view this vote as a sign the American people oppose this deal and will likely support someone next year who thinks this is an unfair agreement for the United States.” U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman is serving his first term representing Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
