Grothman Statement on Obama’s Final Budget
Washington,
February 9, 2016
(WASHINGTON, DC) – Congressman Glenn Grothman (R-Glenbeulah) released the following statement in response to President Obama’s proposed budget. “It is unfathomable that President Obama has proposed yet another budget that never balances. No Wisconsin family can afford to continue to spend money that they don’t have and live beyond their means, like President Obama proposes in his final budget. He has created a wish list of bloated government programs and spending increases that are detached from reality. President Obama seems to be disconnected from the fact that we cannot spend away our nation’s wealth in endless government boondoggles without eventually running out of money. “Our national debt will double by the time Obama leaves office because of his reckless and irresponsible spending. Thankfully, our system of checks and balances allows Congress to rein in this spending spree by rejecting Obama’s budget and providing positive solutions to our growing debt crisis. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the days ahead to pass a reasonable and balanced budget that will protect American jobs and unleash the great potential of our innovative American economy.” U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman is serving his first term representing Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
