Grothman Statement on Trump’s Presidential Address
Congressman Glenn Grothman today released the following statement on President Trump’s joint address to Congress.
“I was honored to be at President Trump’s first address to a Joint Session of Congress.
“He hit the right combination of outreach, optimism and hard-hitting realism as we look toward our country’s semiquincentennial.
“President Trump encouraged the Senate to confirm a judge, Neil Gorsuch, whose principles reflect our Constitution. He laid out a future of taking our country’s best immigrants while remembering the victims of the failed immigration policies of our past. He promised to revitalize American industry, and has turned over a new leaf of the executive branch unabashedly praising law enforcement in our war against crime.
“Additionally, he continued to rally Congress to repeal and replace Obamacare – making it clear that Americans should be on the healthcare plans of their choosing, not ones forced on them by the federal government.
“And as an added bonus for Wisconsin residents, President Trump mentioned our own Harley Davidson as a successful American business.
“Overall, the agenda President Trump laid out tonight is one that will benefit all Americans. I hope that my colleagues on the other side of the aisle will work with congressional Republicans and this administration to help our country succeed.”
U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman is serving his second term representing Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
