Congressman Grothman Working To Rein In The IRS

Grothman says it’s time to make the IRS more accountable to the American people.

(Washington, DC) – U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-Wisconsin) voted this week on a series of bills that will make the IRS more transparent and accountable.

“I was proud to cast multiple votes today to rein in the IRS and make them more accountable to the American people,” said Congressman Grothman. “The unfair targeting of conservative groups and the Lois Lerner email cover up has put the IRS in the hot seat over the last few years. The bills passed today provide many reforms, including prohibiting IRS employees from using their personal email for official business, requiring the IRS to only collect the correct amount of taxes owed by taxpayers, and providing quality service to all Americans.

I cosponsored a number of these bills to begin to reform a broken agency. Americans shouldn’t have to worry about their private information being mishandled by irresponsible IRS employees. They deserve transparency and accountability.”

U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman is serving his first term representing Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Contact his Washington, D.C., office at (202) 225-2476, or online at grothman.house.gov.
